Born Namugonza Maureen Peace · January 13, 2000 · Kyengera, Kampala, Uganda
Ava Peace is one of Uganda’s most exciting emerging artists — a singer, songwriter, and performer whose silky vocals and genre-blending sound have quickly set her apart in East Africa’s competitive music landscape. Fusing Afro-pop, dancehall, and R&B, she delivers music that is both deeply personal and undeniably infectious.
Raised as the youngest of six in Kyengera, Kampala, she nurtured her gift through school and community performances before pursuing a Bachelor of Social Sciences at Makerere University, graduating in 2023 — all while building a music career in parallel. Her breakthrough arrived with the smash debut Nsitula, featuring Spice Diana and Daddy Andre, a collaboration that announced her arrival to the region in emphatic fashion.
